Bring your shotgun and shells, a valid South Dakota small game license, blaze orange, and upland clothing and boots you can walk in. Layer for the season — early October can be shirtsleeves and late season can be single digits. Bring a cooler if you want to drive your birds home.

Anything. Early season is often mild and dry; by late season expect cold, wind and the chance of snow. The hunting is good across all of it, and the lodge is warm at the end of the day.

Most guests fly into Sioux Falls, Rapid City or Pierre and drive from there. Give us a call with your travel plans and we will tell you which one makes the most sense for your dates.

Ask us. Airport transportation is not included in the package price, but we will help you sort out the logistics wherever we can.

Most groups arrive the evening before their first hunting day, settle into a room, and sit down to dinner together. Tell us your travel times when you book and we will have everything ready.

A 12 or 20 gauge you shoot well. Most guests bring a 12. Bring more shells than you think you need.

Give us a call. We will do what we can to get a gun in your hands if you are traveling without one.

Daily limits are set by South Dakota regulations for the season you are hunting. Your guide will go over the specifics for your dates on the first morning.

You will be walking crop fields, CRP and creek bottoms, so expect to be on your feet for a good part of the day. That said, we can pace a hunt to the group, and there is always the option of an easier day. Tell us what you need.

Bird cleaning and processing is included. Your game is cleaned, packaged and frozen, ready to travel home with you.

Absolutely, and we like having them. Our guides coach new shooters, the dogs do the hard part, and the trap range is a good place to get comfortable before the first field.

The lodge has twelve double-occupancy rooms plus a master suite with one king bed. You will share a room with someone in your party unless you have arranged otherwise — tell us your preference when you book.

Yes. Every room in the lodge has its own private bath. The bunkhouse has four bedrooms with two beds each and shared baths.

Yes, and there is a quiet sitting area with tables if you need to get an hour of work done away from the great room.

There is a full bar and a personal bartender in the evenings, plus wine with dinner. You are welcome to bring anything particular you like to drink.

Cigars on the patio are part of the evening here. Please keep smoking outside the lodge.

All of them. A full hot breakfast, lunch brought out to you in the field, hors d'oeuvres before dinner, and a full-course home-cooked dinner with wine at the table. Snacks, soda, juice and water stay stocked in the field all day.

Every lodge and bunkhouse guest. Range access is included with your package and clays for the trap range are furnished.

Ten mounted throwers, set up so a group can shoot together rather than queue up. Most guests warm up on it before the morning hunt and come back to it after the afternoon one.

Steel and paper out to 1,500 yards, shot off benches. If you have a rifle you have been wanting to stretch out, bring it.

Yes. A 5-bird quail hunt can be added to your stay for $150. Just let us know when you book.

The lodge handles larger groups; the bunkhouse suits parties of up to eight. Send us your group size and preferred dates and we will find the right fit.

Deposits are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another available date at the discretion of the outfitter. We will make reasonable efforts to find an alternative date; rescheduling depends on availability.
